Swiss Turn-Mill Machining
Precision, Complexity, and Efficiency — All in One Setup
At Turntech Precision, our Swiss-type turn-mill machines are purpose-built for producing complex, tight-tolerance parts in a highly efficient manner. Designed for precision and versatility, this technology excels when you're dealing with small diameters, long part lengths, fine features, or intricate geometries — all while maintaining exceptional repeatability.
With Swiss turning, you don’t have to choose between precision and productivity — you get both.
What Is Swiss Turn-Mill Machining?
Swiss machining originated in the Swiss watchmaking industry and is now the go-to process for high-precision, small-diameter components across medical, aerospace, electronics, and industrial applications.
Unlike traditional lathes, Swiss machines use a sliding headstock and guide bushing, which support the material close to the cutting zone. This design dramatically reduces deflection, vibration, and chatter — making it ideal for long, slender parts that require stable and consistent cutting.
Our Swiss machines are also equipped with live tooling, allowing us to perform milling, drilling, tapping, and cross-holes all in the same setup.

Benefits of Choosing Swiss Turn-Mill
✔ Complete Parts in One Setup
Eliminate the need for multiple machines or secondary ops — Swiss machines allow us to turn, mill, and finish your parts in a single cycle. This improves part consistency and reduces production lead time.
✔ Superior Surface Finish and Tolerances
Thanks to the guide bushing and rigid support, Swiss machining delivers exceptional surface finishes and tight dimensional control, even on thin-walled or long components.
✔ High Efficiency for Complex Parts
Swiss turning is not just for tiny parts — it’s for parts with fine details, tight tolerances, and multiple features that require seamless integration. Live tooling enables simultaneous multi-face machining, boosting efficiency.
✔ Minimal Material Waste
Shorter bar remnants and efficient toolpaths reduce material loss, making Swiss machining a cost-effective option for precision-critical parts.
Our Machines
Our machine shop features Escomatic Swiss Type Lathes as well as Cincom Swiss Type CNC Automatic Lathes of various sizes and our operations run 24/7 with operators consistently performing in-process quality checks to ensure production runs smoothly. We are able to machine parts ranging from Ø0.5mm to Ø25mm.
Turntech is also in the process of automating labor intensive processes such as part sorting to ensure parts you receive will be 100% defect-free.
The L12-VII: Handling All Small-Diameter Work with 7-axis Control. It realizes the increase in Maximum Speed of not only the Main Spindle but also the Back Spindle and Rotary Tools. In addition to Simultaneous Machining with 5-axis control, it Drastically Reduces Cycle-Time
The Citizen A20, an Evolving 7-Axis CNC Sliding Head Machine, furthers the quest for Cost and Performance, featuring the ability to switch between Guide Bush and Non-Guide Bush Machining.
Why Turntech?
We don’t just run parts — we engineer the right process for your part’s geometry, material, and function. Our team works closely with your design and procurement teams to optimize for manufacturability, cost, and performance. Whether it’s a production run of tens of thousands or a tightly controlled pilot batch, our Swiss machines are ready.
We’ve built our Swiss machining workflow around consistency, reliability, and precision — giving you confidence that the first part and the 10,000th part will perform exactly as expected.
